El nuevo impulso de la novela de suspense español

Para la novelística y ciertos historiadores, sobre todo los de habla inglesa, España parece menos interesante, sobre todo en temas relacionados con secretos y conspiraciones. Y la tendencia de los lectores en castellano que gustan del tema es a leer novelas traducidas del inglés, de donde provienen los códigos da Vinci, Harry Potter y los vampiros crepusculares. Esas novelas llamadas thriller (suspense) son las preferidas.Pero el género ha sido poco explotado por los novelistas del mundo hispano. Esa tendencia podría cambiar. Finalmente aparece una novela (casi un testimonio) que coloca el centro del mundo en España, dando otro impulso a la novela negra y el thriller español: es "Cornatel, el secreto español", del escritor cubano-estadounidense, radicado en México, Antonio Ramos.

El tema de la resurreccion de Cristo articulado a la trama de una conspiración internacional en torno al Castillo de Cornatel, no solo es una amena lectura sino que revela los secretos de situaciones reales ocurridas en España y el mundo. El autor nos explica así su obra:

“Esto es un thriller con una historia moderna que se remonta a las sombras del pasado, pero no tiene ninguna fantasía caprichosa. Lo que sucedió en Cornatel fue como arrancar el velo a la pesadilla de la historia. El peligro acecha dondequiera. Si crees en la fantasía, puedes salvarte. Cornatel con su niebla rota es un castillo mágico, sin dudas. España toda es un gran misterio. Hay poderes, organizaciones secretas, sectas y mafias interesadas en apoderarse del secreto más peligroso del mundo”.

El debate está planteado, tal vez debemos hacernos esta pregunta: ¿Por qué las editoriales españolas no abren sus puertas a los novelistas que cultivan este género y propician la competencia con la novelística en otro idioma? Recomiendo este necesario debate.

The New momentum of Spanish thriller

For the novelistic and some historians, especially English speaking, Spain seems less interesting, especially on issues related to secrets and conspiracies. And the trend in Castilian readers who like the issue is to read novels translated from English, such as the Da Vinci Code, Harry Potter saga and Twilight vampires. Those thriller novels (suspense) are the favorites. This genre little has been exploited by novelists of the Hispanic world. That trend could change.

Finally a novel (almost a testimony) that places the center of the world in Spain, giving a further boost to the Spanish thriller appears:  "Cornatel, the Spanish Secret", by the Cuban-American writer who lives in Mexico, Antonio Ramos.

The theme of the resurrection of Christ hinged to the frame of an international conspiracy around Castle of Cornatel is not only an enjoyable read, also reveals the secrets of real situations that occurred in Spain and the world.

The author explains that his work:

"This is a thriller with a modern history dating back to the shadows of the past, but has no a whimsical fantasy. What happened in Cornatel was like pulling the veil to the nightmare of history. Danger lurks everywhere. If you believe in fantasy, you can save. Cornatel with her broken fog is a magical castle, no doubt. All Spain is a great mystery. There are powers, secret organizations, sects and mafias interested in taking over the world's most dangerous secret”.

The debate is raised, perhaps we should ask ourselves this question: Why do the Spanish publishers do not open their doors to the novelists who cultivate this genre and foster competition in the novel in another language? I recommend this necessary debate.
